Cat Mistakes SPSP for "ppsspp, ppsspp," Has a Great Time

NEW ORLEANS (RPT) – A local housecat named Geronimo ended up at the meeting of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) after mistaking “SPSP” for a series of inviting “ppsspp, ppsspp” vocalizations emanating from the Hyatt Regency Conference Center where the meeting was being held. Despite his mistake in wandering into the conference hotel, the cat decided to stay because of the liberal use of laser pointers during talks and the passive-aggressive remarks to poster presenters.

“I appreciated the aloof demeanor of the majority of conference-goers,” the cat told an RPT correspondent. “But that poster about psychological biases and cat memes was offensive and out-of-touch,” he added. The cat then told an RPT correspondent that he does not typically follow ‘ppsspp, ppsspp’ sounds unless they are followed by, ‘Here kitty kitty!’ but is very glad that he attended the meeting.

“I think that cat took a shit in my laptop bag,” said a graduate student about Geronimo’s presence at the meeting. An SPSP representative who was asked to comment said, “The views expressed in the poster about cat memes do not represent the views of SPSP or its members. We apologize for any offense we might have caused to Geronimo as well as any and all other cats that either saw the poster or heard about it.” In order to rectify the damage caused by the offending cat meme poster, SPSP leadership has stated that they will provide any offended cats with free cheezburgers.
