Conference Evacuated After Attendee Enters Building Wearing “Make SPSP Great Again” T-shirt, Cover-Up Exposed

NEW ORLEANS (RPT) – The meeting of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) was evacuated yesterday when an attendee entered the premises wearing a t-shirt with the words 'Make SPSP Great Again’ emblazoned across the front. “This threatens everything that we stand for,” said an SPSP official.

Conference goers were initially told that the evacuation was a ‘false alarm,’ but it has now become clear that there was a genuine threat. When questioned about why conference goers were not told about the true nature of the threat, SPSP officials told RPT, “we didn’t want to freak everybody out at first, so we just lied and tried to cover it up.”

A graduate student attended the meeting commented “I can’t believe that SPSP would hide information about a contagion threat like this.” This incident comes on the heels of another apparel-related threat to conference goers in which a conference attendee was detained for wearing a hat that suggested she may be a trump supporter.
